About Me

An award-winning Tampa Bay actor/director/choreographer/stage manager, James Grenelle has appeared with several theatres, both professional and community, in such shows as La Cage aux Folles (Albin), Cabaret (Emcee), Crazy For You (Bobby), Lend Me a Tenor (Max), Guys and Dolls (Nathan), Dames at Sea (Lucky), Avenue Q (Brian), Nunsense A-Men! (Sr. Robert Anne), Barnum (Ringmaster), as well as touring the southeastern U.S. as Smudge in Forever Plaid. His directing/choreography credits include: Chicago, West Side Story, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Sweet Charity, 9 to 5: The Musical, The Drowsy Chaperone, Evita, The Addams Family, 1776, Xanadu, Kinky Boots, and Sunset Boulevard. His choreography can also be seen at various Club Meds in Florida, the Bahamas, and the Turks and Caicos Islands. Television credits: The Super Bowl XXV Half-Time Show and The Red, White and Blue Troop Celebration, both produced by the Walt Disney Company. As a performer, he has appeared in Circus of Dreams, a Cirque du Soleil-style show that traveled to parts of the U.S., Spain, Puerto Rico, and the UK where he performed for such notables as Yuri Gellar, David Frost, and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber. For over 10 years, James has adjudicated at the Florida State Thespian District Festival in addition to multiple years at the State Thespian Festival and Junior Thespian Festivals. He currently serves as the Administrative Director for Eight O’Clock Theatre in Largo.
